"Greater Things have Yet to Come..."

Thailand Outreach Team!
During an intercession time at base before we left for outreach, the song "You're the God of This City" was being played and Freddy strongly felt that should be the theme song for all the outreach teams. When we got here we found out that this particular song was actually written here in Thailand in a city called Pattaya. That city is one of the central places for sex trafficking and prostitution. This Christian band, Bluetree, was playing in a bar in the centre of this all, and God revealed this song to them spontaneously. This is a song prophetically proclaiming God as King over that city and nation. It’s a song of hope, prophesying that there are greater things yet to come. Listen to the song here.

Here's the cool thing; it just so happens that this is the city that our team has been praying about going to share Jesus in. We will spend a week there, sharing Jesus in the inner city. Sharing Jesus’ love to those involved in the sex trade. We will be assisting a ministry called Tamar Centre, which works with bringing help, healing and hope for the women (and children) in the sex trade. They do various things to help get them into better situations by earning money in different ways like card-making, hairdressing, baking, working at a restaurant and other income-earning activities as well as giving courses in life skills, English and knowing God.

We are praying to join Tamar center in Pattaya from April 5-12. We need $100 per team member for one week; this includes transport, housing and food. There are 7 of us on the team plus the translator, so in total 8 members equals $800 for the whole trip. As we prayed as a team, we all really felt strongly that God wanted us to go! Initially, we were discouraged about going because the finances were such a big mountain in our way, but as we continued to pray, God confirmed that we should just go ahead with it anyways. He is able to provide.

Please pray for us that we could receive the right amount of finances. Also please ask God if and what he wants you to give. If it is something especially on your heart that you really want to support us financial, feel free to go ahead and help by fundraising in any creative that you want (ie, garage sale, bake sale, movie night… or anything else). If we get more people to participate in this vision, then it makes the load a lot lighter. For instance, if ten people pay only $10, then that is enough for one of us to go on this trip. Then if you get 80 people to contribute $10, then all of us will be able to go. The fun thing is that this doesn’t have to be about just giving money, but you can make it fun. You can have your friends come over for a bake sale/party or something and they can have good treats, while supporting a good cause. Please consider praying about it.

My team as this opportunity to be such a strong light in this place and make a difference even in the hearts of a few. We are now in this country anyways, but just lacking a manageable amount of finances. We believe that God will show himself all the more mighty in this circumstance... And he may just use you to be a part of that miracle! :)

That's pretty awesome that you can affect those around you so much. It is very surprising how people will listen to what you say because they are interested in your opinion. I used to think that people who weren't family or friends didn't really care about what I thought. But as it turns out I was wrong. Just remember people want to know your opinions :D! Glad you having a good time!
